LET’S MAKE AN EASY PVC FLAG POLE
Flag poles like these are often seen around RVs at campgrounds across the country.
This flag pole offers a unique manner of displaying the flag with its interesting angle and ability to move when it catches the wind.
This project is quite fun to work on while at the same time being extremely simple.
Start with a materials list of items below found at your local hardware store......
1 – 10 foot long piece of 3/4 inch PVC pipe...
1 – 45 degree 3/4 inch PVC fitting...
1 – 3/4 inch PVC T fitting...
2 – 3/4 inch PVC end caps ( 1 if using light)...
1 – 2 foot long piece of concrete rebar (or any metal stake that fits inside your PVC pipe)
Cut the 10’ long piece of PVC pipe into 2 – 4’ long pieces and 2 – 1’ long pieces.
Take all of the fittings and pipe and assemble them in the orientation shown in the picture. Click on picture to enlarge for easier viewing.
There are many ways to attach the flag to the flag pole. I have seen metal clips, cable ties, key rings and shower curtain rings. This picture shows ¼” SS eye bolt and nut. Then use a carabineer to attach the flag.
Put a 2 foot long piece of metal stake or concrete rebar from the local home center into the ground.
Now the easiest part is dropping the flag pole over the top of the stake and watch the flag blow in the wind while the pole spins.
And the flagpole is finished.
But you can add a yard solar light to the top as shown.
Or maybe spray paint it fluorescent…WOW!!!
